Tuna comes in many different varieties and if you follow this recipe step-by-step you will definitely be satisfied with the outcome! The Ahi tuna recipe serves 4 people and is a great main course meal. Start with a hot pan and a small drop of oil. Season the tuna with salt and pepper. When the pan begins to smoke slightly, place the fish in the hot skillet for 3 minutes. The tuna should pan sear to a rare-to-medium rare. The next step requires putting all of the ingredients together in a sauce-pan and then spoon it over the Tuna Steaks. The sauce contents is achieved by reducing the balsamic vinegar by about one half. Do not let the sauce reduction to get out of control or it will burn. The sauce comes out as a Sweet and Sour Glaze. This is a perfect sauce for either ahi or yellow fin tuna. This sauce may also be used for beef, chicken and pork as a glaze. You may also add a touch of sugar to the vinegar for a a little more sweet taste. Only the freshest tuna should be purchased because tuna is not safe to eat if not fresh. Whenever preparing a sashimi tuna recipe or any seafood to a rare or medium rare doneness it should be served immediately or held under refrigeration until service. Always remember safely when serving this recipe. Clean all appliances that were used with the seafood. Overcooking this fish will result in a dry and unpleasant dish.
